Bikram Method Classes:
Level I 90 – (Bikram method)
Originating from the Bishnu Ghosh lineage, this 90-minute hatha yoga class consists of beginner hatha yoga poses performed in a heated studio. Known world wide as the Bikram Method, while challenging at the start, this class is a perfect place for the beginner yoga student. We recommend this as our best class for recovering from injury to improving athletic performance, balance, stamina, and so much more. The benefits of regular practice of this class are endless. This is also an excellent class for those who wish to see quick improvements to flexibility. All ages are welcome. Avoid eating before class. Bring water, 2 towels, and a yoga mat if you have one. Arrive well hydrated and 15 minutes early for your first class.
Level I 90 with Music
Bikram Yoga with a twist! Rhythmic instrumentals, with a strong soul beat inject a new feel into an already fantastic class. Suitable for beginners and those who like a little beat with their yoga.
Level I 60
Originating from the Bishnu Ghosh lineage, this 60 minute hatha yoga class consists of beginner hatha yoga poses performed in a heated studio. This class is suitable for beginners and widely practiced by yogis as a fun and effective way to maintain general health and mental well being, relieving physical tension and mental anxiety. It is a faster paced version of the Bikram yoga class, a very therapeutic class, yet a challenging workout, depending on how one approaches the practice. Please avoid eating before class, arrive well hydrated and 15 minutes early for your first class.
Level II – 75
This class draws from the Bishnu Ghosh lineage 84 Hatha Yoga poses. This is a 75-minute class practiced in a heated studio. This class is not for the beginner yoga student, and is not suitable for those that have current injuries or are in rehabilitation. Practice pranayama, sun salutations and hatha flows, this class is a natural if you have been practicing Level I class and feel ready to move forward and take on more challenging poses. A fun, faster paced class that will have you falling in love with your practice again and again. Bring water, 2 towels, and a yoga mat. Arrive well hydrated and 15 minutes early for your first class.
Level III – 105
This class consists of the 84 Classic Hatha yoga poses of the Bishnu Ghosh lineage and is approximately 105 minutes. For the serious yogi, a powerful sequence of postures challenging on every level. This class is a pre-registration class and must have 10 students registered with payment in order to run. Teachers and students wishing to take this class must have a strong Level II current practice. Bring water, 2 large towels, and your yoga mat.
For Level I classes the studio is heated to 105°F/41°C to help loosen the joints and improve the elasticity of the muscles, which allows for safer and deeper stretching. It also promotes sweating, resulting in an amazing detoxification.
There is much evidence both scientific and anecdotal to support the benefits of Bikram method yoga when practiced regularly. Problems of alignment, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, diabetes, heart disease, asthma, insomnia, high and low blood pressure, and so many other medical problems have shown much improvement for so many with regular practice.
Bikram method yoga raises the libido and improves sexual function and stamina as well as heightens sexual feelings and response. This is likely due to a rise in body temperature and the extra blood circulating around the body and genital area, coupled with the relief of overall stress and tension.
