Hot Yoga

Bikram Yoga is a 90 minute class consisting of 26 postures and two breathing exercises. It is open to all levels of practitioners. This is a preventive, therapeutic and healing yoga developed over 30 years ago. Developed for beginners while still challenging for advanced students, the sequence of 26 postures is an intelligent series, scientifically designed to work every muscle, ligament, tendon and joint in your body, moving fresh oxygenated blood through 100% of the body, into each and every organ and fibre, restoring all systems to optimal health. Every posture prepares you for the next one and every following posture gains from the previous one, resulting in incredible benefits such as improved body alignment and posture, muscle & joint mobility, concentration, and energy levels both physical and mental.

The studio is heated to 105°F/41°C to help loosen the joints and improve the elasticity of the muscles, which allows for safer and deeper stretching. It also promotes sweating, resulting in an amazing detoxification.

There is much evidence both scientific and anecdotal to support the benefits of Bikram’s Hot Yoga when practiced regularly. Problems of alignment, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, diabetes, heart disease, asthma, insomnia, high and low blood pressure, and so many other medical problems have shown much improvement for so many with regular practice.

  • Students report that Bikram Yoga raises the libido and improves sexual function and stamina as well as heightens sexual feelings and response. This is likely due to a rise in body temperature and the extra blood circulating around the body and genital area, coupled with the relief of overall stress and tension.

Many famous people practice Bikram’s Hot Yoga, Gwenyeth Paltrow; Charlie Sheen; Cameron Diaz; Johnny Depp; John McEnroe; Kareem Abdul Jabbar; Shirley MacLaine, Roberto Luongo, Raquel Welch, Olivia Newton-John, Connie Stevens, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jeff Bridges, Bianca Jagger, Emilio Estavez, Barbara Streisand, Nick Cage and many more! Millions of people worldwide are presently enjoying the benefits of a regular Bikram practice.
